Druid (Elven) Chant

Yule14BlackThis is a seasonal chant. It can be used not only for the Winter Solstice, but also for winter months subsequent to Yule.

If you recite it, please tell me what happens. Walking through falling snow, I channeled this poem. When the Goddess gave me a line, I chanted it immediately, while continuing my passage beneath a gray snowy sky. The experience was a gift from the Goddess, and doubly joyful when, reaching home, I managed to get a version of it in writing, because now I can share it with you, my fellow seeker (as well as use it again myself). Sharing our journeys blesses me utterly. So it would be wonderful to know your experience with this chant.

And, by the way, it works perfectly well without the snow storm, LOL. You do not need falling snow to use this chant.

Druid (Elven) Winter Solstice Chant
Francesca De Grandis, 2014

With the falling snow,
stars plummet to ground.

Aaahhhhhh, wooooooo.
Aaahhhhhh, wooooooo.

I, elf, know my losses.
I, elf, know my losses.

Aaahhhhhh, wooooooo.
Aaahhhhhh, wooooooo.

I, elf, know my pains.
I, elf, know my pains.

Aaahhhhhh, wooooooo.
Aaahhhhhh, wooooooo.

I, elf, am not trapped by any sorrow.
I, elf, am not destined to mythic melancholy
or an inevitable tragedy of erroneous lore.

Stars descend with the falling snow.
The chill and the heat bless me.

Aaahhhhhh, wooooooo.
Aaahhhhhh, wooooooo.

All the power of the stars is mine.

Aaahhhhhh, wooooooo.
Aaahhhhhh, wooooooo.

My powers are from the dark Mother Goddess.
My powers are from the blazing newborn King.
My powers are from the earth’s molten core.
My powers are from the fiery silver stars.
My powers are from the Dragon flame—all cauldron fires are mine.

By my powers, I easily manifest utter connection to my Gods.

Aaahhhhhh, wooooooo.
Aaahhhhhh, wooooooo.

Winter Ceremony

imageInto the Quiet Core of Winter’s Joy and Beauty:
A seven-week ritual group,
centering you into your essence and power

Winter months have subtle Faerie gifts, because those months are the darkest time of the Yearwheel. We’ll sink into lush hidden realms, the dark quiet center of Goddess power. Instead of struggling to grow or cope, we’ll relax into the season’s rhythms and spiritual beauty, and thus relax into our own rhythms and beauty.

We’ll be immersed in a peace that gives us mental, emotional, and psychic clarity.

Wintertime has the intrinsic ability to root us in the core of our own being and Gaia’s rhythm. We’ll go deeply into the heart of reality, creating a centered, self-fulfilled, and successful winter and year ahead.

Sessions will be peaceful, revitalizing, and individualized to participants, including direct spiritual transmissions to nurture spiritual and physical health for each individual.

We meet in a group phone call. To participate, just dial your phone.

The process is without prerequisites and suitable for both newbies and adepts.

We meet seven Wednesdays, 6:00 to 7:00 PM EST, starting Dec 10. The Wednesdays are consecutive, except we’ll skip Wednesdays Dec 24 and Dec 31, for the U.S. Holidays. Our last class is February 4—I am jazzed that the group happens through the darkest part of the year! Reserve Weds Feb 11, same time, for a makeup meeting in case I’m unavailable for one of the planned sessions.

Fee is $250. You might pay long-distance charges, depending on your long-distance plan. If so, they appear on your phone bill. The event’s area code is a US #. No refunds.  If you need more info, can’t use PayPal, or want to discuss scholarship or trade, call me: 814-337-2490.I do not discuss events by email.

Upon receipt of payment, your place is reserved, and event details emailed to you. No refunds.

Blessed be the beauty and lush power hidden within us all.

No Need to Fit In!

People trying to decide if I’m the right guide for them often say, “I’m eclectic, so I don’t know if I’ll fit into what you teach.”

Detail. Faerie Realm, silk painting, Francesca De Grandis

Oh dear! It is terrible that the prevalence of bad teachers requires that issue to even come up.

Most of my students are eclectic. I am, too. Those who look for the core of reality, the heart of magic, and the essence of mysticism do not want to be boxed in by labels (Wicca, hedge witch, Druid, Taoist, Christian), and are not looking for ego-feeding titles. They are drawn to teachers who, whatever their path, support students to find their own idea—and experience—of the core of reality, heart of magic, and essence of mysticism. I hope I’m one such teacher.image

During our lessons, we transcend labels and titles, to focus on finding our individual beliefs, personal myths, and shamanic gifts. If folks already have them, I help them polish their personal approach, even if they’re already master level.

Magic, Spirit, and life cannot be standardized.

I do tend to call my classes “Wicca” or “Faerie.” I’m of the generation in which “Wicca” and “Faerie” referred to (among other things) individualized earth-spirituality. Unfortunately, nowadays, those terms are often used rigidly, to denote a set liturgy and belief system, which invalidates many beautiful Gaia lovers.

You’re not alone if you’ve faced invalidation. When first teaching (eek, that was in the eighties!), I thought I knew the one true way. Then I realized my students were my peers and fellow travelers. Guess what? After explaining I wld no longer support a hierarchy, imageI lost many of my students, they migrated to a fundie tradition of fey magic. I was devastated, stunned that people I loved—many of these were my beloved initiates—could not make that move with me, that attempt at being egoless. It was, and still is, painful to see ego takes precedence over ethics, effective magic, fey sensibilities, and beauty. But I mention my experience because it might be validating for folks who went through something similar. Ok, enough negative stuff. To quote “Buffy, “not for me the furrowed brow.”

Onto the rest of my beautiful day—my Gods’ embrace, a flow of joy, magic, and right livelihood, a flow carrying me toward even more joy, magic, and right livelihood. I hope this post is validating and/or, if you’re considering me as a guide, informative.
